Our family holiday to Thailand in April was hot, humid, cultural and relaxing!
We had 4 nights in Bangkok at the recently renovated Pathumwan Princess Hotel. It has a great location right next door to the MBK shopping centre, where you can find plenty of bargains and pick up an Asian dinner at the food court. We did the Floating Markets which greeted us with chaotic scenes and amazing food and also the lovely Grand Palace, which was particularly busy being just after the Songkran holiday. If you are a cat lover there is a cafe for you - The Caturday Cafe! which was just a short walk from where we stayed.
Then we were off to Khao Lak which is approximately an hour drive north of Phuket. We stayed at the family friendly X10 Resort. The pool access room was handy and the family enjoyed the 5 swimming pools, waterslides, kids club and adult pool bar. Amongst the evening entertainment they even had a fire show. It was a 10 minute walk to the main street where we enjoyed local food and markets. We also visited the Tsunami Memorial which was humbling.
Overall it ticked all the boxes!
